Georgia Fishing

Bass is the primary target for most fishermen in Georgia. However there is excellent trout fishing in many of the rivers and streams and great striper fishing as well. Our primary focus starts with the lakes and reservoirs of Georgia.

Fishing Lake Locations in Georgia

Lake Allatoona : 12,000-acre reservoir located north-west of Atlanta, 2 miles north of Acworth, GA.

Banks Lake : 4,000-acre impoundment located in the central-southern edge of the state, 7 miles north-east of Valdosta, GA.

Blue Ridge Lake : 3,300-acre reservoir located on the northern border of the state just east of the mid point, 2 miles east of Blue Ridge, GA.

Carters Lake : 3,200-acre reservoir located in the north-west corner of the state, 5 miles west of Ellijay, GA.

Chatuge Lake : 6,800-acre lake which resides in both Georgia and North Carolina, in the north-east corner of Georgia, at Hiawassee, GA.

Hartwell Lake : 56,000-acre lake located on the north-eastern border of the state, at Hartwell, GA.

J. Strom Thurmond Lake aka Clarks Hill Lake : 71,000-acre reservoir located on the eastern border of the state, at Clarks Hill, SC.

Lake Burton : 2,800-acre lake in north-east Georgia, 10 miles west of Clayton, GA.

Lake Blackshear : 8,700-acre reservoir located in the south-central part of the state, 8 miles west of Cordele, GA.

Lake Jackson : 4,700-acre lake located in the upper-central part of the state, 3 miles north-east of Jackson, GA.

Lake Seminole : 37,000-acre reservoir located in the south-west corner of the state on the Florida-Georgia border at Chattahoochee, FL.

Lake Sidney Lanier : 39,000-acre reservoir located in the upper-central potrion of the state, at Gainsville, GA.

Nottely Lake : 4,200-acre reservoir located on the northern border of the state, a mile north-west of Blairsville, GA.

Richard B Russell Lake : 45,000-acre reservoir located on the eastern Georgia border with South Carolina at Calhoun Falls, SC.

West Point Lake : 29,500-acre reservoir located on the western border midpoint of the state state, at West Point, GA.

Oconee Lake : 19,000-acre lake located in the central-eastern part of the state, 2 miles west of Greensboro, GA.

Walter F. George Reservoir, aka Lake Eufaula : 45,000-acre reservoir on the Chattahoochee River located on the western border of the state, at Georgetown, GA.
