Nevada Fishing

Typically Nevada is thought of as a baren, hot desert. Some parts are. Other areas include high-country lakes, trees and snow ski areas. Nevada offers the full spectrum of fishing, from trout and salmon fishing in Lake Tahoe to bass, crappie, catfish and striper fishing in Lake Mead and Lake Mohave.

Lake Lahontan : 10,000-acre lake in the west-central part of the state, at Silver Springs, NV.

Lake Mead : 160,000-acre lake on the south-east border of the state, between Henderson and Overton, NV.

Lake Mohave : 28,800-acre lake on the arizona border in the far south-east corner of the state, at Laughlin, NV.

Lake Tahoe : 123,000-acre lake on the western border of the state, at Glenbrook, NV.

Pyramid Lake : 120,000-acre lake in the west-central part of the state, 4 miles north of Nixon, NV.

Ruby Lake : 15,000-acre lake in the north-east part of the state, 5 miles south of Ruby Valley, NV.

Rye Patch Reservoir : 11,000-acre lake in the north-west part of the state, 35 miles south-west of Winnemucca, NV.

Topaz Lake : 1,200-acre lake on the south-west border of the state, 8 miles south-west of Wellington, NV.

Washoe Lake : 6,300-acre lake in the west central part of the state, 5 miles north of Carson City, NV.

Wild Horse Reservoir : 2,800-acre lake in the north-central part of the state, 12 miles south of Mountain City, NV.
